East Side of 5th Street

This is the east side of 5th Street looking north. This parking lot was the site of several historic homes, including that of Lucien Howell. The historic buildings that were demolished can be seen on the 1906 Sanborn map in the Introduction Section.

East side of 5th Street looking south. This large building is home to the Kindred Healthcare Administrative Offices. It was the site of the Caldwell House as well as several others. The large building covers half of the block.
